What’s new in BuildPass Drawings

Part of our Q2 release, built from real customer feedback

Why this release matters

Since we launched the Drawings module, GCs and superintendents have told us how much they value having a single source of truth for project plans. No more back and forth, and no more guessing whether a file is current. But as job sites get busier and teams grow, the need to review, compare, and share drawings efficiently becomes even more important.

This update builds on that strong foundation, giving your team more control, clearer visibility, and a smoother experience from upload to field access.

Whether you're reviewing plans at your desk or checking punch list details on your phone, these updates are designed to help you move faster, stay aligned, and keep work on track.

What’s new in BuildPass Drawings

Swipe navigation on mobile

Your crew can now swipe through drawings in the BuildPass app without needing to exit and reload each file. It's perfect for reviewing multiple levels or plan sets on the job.

Search, sort, and filter

Whether you're a GC, field worker, or external partner viewing a shared link, it's easier to find what you need. Use keywords, filters, or sorting to get straight to the right drawing.

Titles and thumbnails

Each file now shows a thumbnail and clearer title so you can quickly scan large drawing sets without opening every file.

Bulk confirm

Uploaded a full plan set? You can now confirm everything in one click, instead of reviewing each file individually.

Side-by-side sync

Need to compare revisions? Use our side-by-side viewer to scroll and zoom in sync, making changes easy to spot at a glance.

Individual upload control

You can now pause or cancel any file during upload without stopping the full batch. This gives you more flexibility when handling large uploads.

Upgraded PDF viewer

Drawings are easier to view with sharper zoom, a larger preview window, and better fit-to-screen functionality built for use in the field.

What’s coming next

We’re continuing to improve the Drawings experience with input from builders across the US. Here’s what’s on the roadmap.

Read receipts

Your team will always see the latest revision first, just like an unread message. Admins and supers can check who’s viewed each file without needing to follow up.

Better visibility for drawing changes

Builders told us it's more useful to highlight updates than to hide previous versions. We’re designing a clearer way to show what’s changed, including built-in change summaries that surface key updates in a drawing set. That way, you don’t have to rely on emails or chats to communicate changes.

Offline access

Internet service isn’t always reliable on site. We’re working on offline support, starting with downloadable files so your team can access key drawings anywhere.

Upload access for collaborators

Need drawings from your architect or consultant? External collaborators will soon be able to upload files directly to your project for review.
