BuildPass vs Procore

BuildPass vs Procore

BuildPass runs preconstruction, jobsite operations and finance in one platform. Procore is enterprise construction management, built for contractors with the teams to configure and run it. This page compares the two on scope, the field, site compliance, and AI.

Why growing contractors choose BuildPass

BuildPass runs preconstruction, jobsite operations and finance in one platform, so a job goes from first estimate to final payment without moving between systems. Procore covers jobsite operations and project financials, and leaves site compliance to marketplace partners.

01
One platform, three stages

Win the work, run the jobsite, get paid. Estimating, bidding, buyout, jobsite delivery, quality, budgets, pay applications and change orders all sit on the same jobs and the same people.

02
Built for the people on site

Subs orient themselves and sign in from a phone browser with nothing to install. Supasite gives your field team their own app, and it feeds straight back into BuildPass.

03
An agent that works on your data

BuildPass Agent answers questions and builds workflows inside the product. The MCP connector lets you work with your BuildPass data from Claude or ChatGPT, so the job record is available wherever your team already works.

How BuildPass and Procore compare

Every row is a question both platforms answer in the same terms. Where the honest answer is the same on both sides, it is in the line under the table rather than padding the table out with matching ticks.

Both platforms cover drawings, scheduling, daily logs, punch lists, ITPs, inspections, RFIs and submittals. The differences are at the two ends of the job: what happens at the gate, and what happens in the office before and after it.

Procore capabilities checked against Procore's published documentation, October 2026. BuildPass capabilities checked against the BuildPass product source, except plan inclusions and US support hours, which are confirmed by BuildPass.

Why contractors move to BuildPass

Preconstruction and finance

The bid that wins becomes the budget

Your estimator prices the job in Win, and the bid that wins becomes the budget in Pay without re-entering a line. Pay applications, change orders and retainage run against the same job your field team is signing in to.

The paperwork arrives before the sub does

A sub arriving on Monday scans the QR at the gate, completes the orientation on their phone and submits their own JHA. Their certifications, insurances and job history attach to them, not to a folder, so the next job starts with the paperwork already done.

Ask your project record a question

Ask BuildPass Agent which punch items are overdue on a job and it answers from your live data. Describe a workflow and it builds it. Connect Claude or ChatGPT through the MCP connector and your project record is available in the tools your office already uses.

BuildPass and Procore, answered

The things that come up most when a contractor is weighing up the two.

BuildPass runs preconstruction, jobsite operations and finance in one platform. Procore is enterprise construction management with deeper head-office financials, and no orientation, JHA or jobsite sign-in tool of its own. Both cover drawings, scheduling, daily logs, punch lists, ITPs, RFIs and submittals.

For a contractor whose bottleneck is getting orientations, sign-ins, daily logs and punch lists done properly on site, yes. Procore rewards a business with people internally to configure and run it. BuildPass covers the same jobsite scope in one platform and puts it in the hands of the people doing the work.

For most contractors running jobsite operations, yes, including safety, site access, jobsite records, quality and documents. The exception is deep head-office financial forecasting, where Procore goes further. BuildPass integrates with Procore both ways if you need both.

Head-office financial forecasting and enterprise reporting across a large portfolio, and preconstruction at enterprise scale. If one of those decides your platform, Procore is the stronger choice.

Not as Procore tools. Procore's product list carries no orientation, JHA or sign-in module, and these are delivered through App Marketplace partners. Procore does publish a fillable Hot Work Permit and a Toolbox Talk Sign-In PDF for use in its Forms tool.

Both. Win covers takeoffs, estimates, invitations to bid, buyout, subcontracts and purchase orders. Pay covers prime contracts, budgets, pay applications, change orders and retainage, against the same jobs your field team works on.

Yes. BuildPass Agent answers questions and builds workflows from your live project data inside the product. BuildPass also publishes a first-party MCP connector, so Claude or ChatGPT can work with your BuildPass data directly. Procore has its own AI agents; access through an AI client of your own is where the two differ.

Yes, and some contractors do at first. The Procore directory syncs into BuildPass, attendance syncs out to Procore's daily log, and documents file into the Procore folder you choose.

Subs scan a QR code at the gate, complete their orientation and sign in from their phone browser with nothing to install. Their JHA, certifications and insurances attach to them rather than to a job folder, so the paperwork arrives without an admin chasing it.
